Health Minister Seeks Homeopathic Solutions to Tackle Dengue

Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain asked the homeopathic fraternity if they could come up with a permanent solution to tackle dengue. Dengue affects hundreds of people annually in the national capital alone.

Delhi’s Dengue Problems

Delhi has been facing a dengue problem for quite some time and the Delhi Health Minister is hoping that the group can find a remedy for dengue fever.

The outbreak of dengue has been shocking in Delhi. Last year, the city saw an overwhelming 15,867 cases – the worst in 20 years. The disease claimed 60 lives.

In 1996, a severe outbreak of dengue had occurred where 10,252 cases took place and 423 deaths were reported. Officials are hoping that by incorporating homeopathy into treatment for both preventative and curative care, these numbers will drop.

Homeopathic Treatments for Dengue

Several experts joined Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain at the symposium. The experts were in agreeance that homeopathy has a large scope in both effective prevention and treatment of dengue fever thereby reducing the disease burden in the country, and tangentially, also reducing the overall cost of preventative programs carried out by the central and state governments every year during the wave of dengue epidemic in the country.

Homeopathic remedies can improve the platelet counts in hemorrhagic dengue, which can result in the fall in the platelets and can even cause death.
